Eileen is a Founding Member and a Life Member
of etc., having been involved since the initial meeting in 1976
until now.
Eileen had her first theatre experience with
STAG, having been involved with Pantomimes and several productions of
‘Dimboola’ in which she played ‘Flo’ the Mother of the Groom, she went on
to perform this very role for over 50 productions over the years with
etc. Eileen has directed many plays over the years, mainly comedies
like ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’, ‘Shut Your Eyes and Think of England’ and
Melodramas such as ‘The Misadventures of Madeline’ ‘Only an Orphan Girl’
and many Pantomimes in which she enjoys working with children very much.
She has also ‘tread the boards’ several
times, playing roles such as ‘Lady Bracknell’ in ‘The Importance of Being
Ernest’, ‘Madame Arcate’ in ‘Blithe Spirit’ ‘The Mother’ in ‘It’s My
Party and I’ll Die if I Want To’, to name some of her favourites.
Eileen is also involved with the Wardrobe
Department, having made and adapted hundreds of costumes for the varied
plays we have performed in the last 34 years.
Her greatest achievement is winning an Award
for Best Costumes for our 2008 production of ‘Enchanted April’. She has
also directed plays for other companies, ‘Shut Your Eyes and Think of
England’ for Cats in Craigieburn and ‘My Three Angels’ for Brunswick
Coburg Theatre Company in the ‘90’s.
Eileen also received two Awards for ‘Best
Actress In a Comedy’ at the Kyneton One Act Plays Festival and the Wagga
One Act Play Festivals in the 70’s.
Eileen is currently President having just
been re-elected to this position.
She was the first President when we became
Incorporated in the ‘80’s and had also held the position of Secretary for
many years.

Well my first audition
for a production at etc was “Blyth Spirit”…
it was my first. And the
intro to etc and my story began.
I did eventually perform
on stage in Aladdin as the Sultan and Wentworth.
also operating sound.
now I provide backstage, set build, technical advise
and work closely with all
directors in helping to complete a successful etc production…
2010 will be my first
directing experience with the wonderful
Dawn who will be
teaching me her skill and experience in direction….

Belonging to a theatrical
family, Dawn has been involved in theatre since the age of 8.
She directed her first
play at the age of 15 under the guidance of her father David.
The most recent play she
directed was This Way Up in 2008.
She enjoys spending time
on the stage as well where she has acted,
sung and danced in many
productions over the years. Amongst her favourites at etc are
Steel Magnolias, 10,000
Cigarettes, Scenes from a Separation and Last of the Red Hot Lovers.
